A major metal processing facility in Azerbaijan - Khirdalan Steel Construction Plant, owned by Azerbaijan’s Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC, prepares for launching a new production line aimed to increase the plant’s production, a source in the company told Trend.

According to the source, it was initially planned to open two new lines in April 2020.

“At the moment, the enterprise’s plans have undergone certain changes. It’s expected that just one production line will be launched by the end of May of this year. The second line can be launched later, approximately in the summer season,” the source said.

“Currently, the plant produces 300 tons of metal structures every month. The plant aims to increase the production capacity of the enterprise in the future. It’s planned to bring production rates to 500 tons per month. As of now, the plant has installed new types of modern equipment in order to increase the production volumes. It’s scheduled to increase the production of metal parts for cement plants, as well as auxiliary structures for metal casting,” the source noted.

Soon new lathes designed for processing steel billets will be installed at the plant.

The plant produces metal casting furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, as well as equipment for cooling metal products.

Khirdalan Steel Construction Plant has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2015.

Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC was established in August 2010 and operates in two segments - construction and production.

In particular, the corporation is engaged in the production of various building materials, is a contractor for a number of projects for the construction of road transport infrastructure, and is also involved in the construction of residential complexes in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula.
