Iran announces number of commissioned enterprises

As many as 5,890 production facilities were put into operation in Iran during the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to February 19, 2020), said the director general of the Industry, Mines and Trade Ministry’s Department of Food, Medicine and Health Industries Mehdi Sadeghi Niaraki, Trend reports citing Ministry.

According to Sadeghi Niaraki, about 550 trillion rials (about $13 billion) have been invested in the establishment of these enterprises and 93,700 people have been employed.

Sadeghi Niaraki added that more than 330 trillion rials (about $7.8 billion) were lent to 20,700 industrial enterprises last Iranian year.

The deputy minister said that there was an increase in the production of 30 out of 41 industrial and mining products last Iranian year.

Sadeghi Niaraki said that production of petrochemical products amounted to 49.7 million tons during 11 months and an increase of 0.9 percent.

According to the report of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran, manufacturing of a number of products has increased during 11 months. These were mainly production of cotton threads (7.2 percent), production of polystyrene fibers (19.1 percent), footwear production (0.2 percent), television production (3.3 percent), production of refrigerators (8.1 percent, production of washing machines (36.7 percent), production of water conditioners (18.4 percent), production of electric motors (17.8 percent).
