Georgia to export medical face shields

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23

By Tamilla Mammadova - Trend:

Georgian Favorite Style company manufacturing medical face shields plans to export the products, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

With the shortage of protective masks and disinfectants during the coronavirus pandemic both in Georgia and around the world, the ministry of economy, together with other government agencies and the private sector, managed to organize their local production in record time, said the report.

"We allowed the company to export a certain quantity of medical shields that are so widely represented on the local market. The medical shields are very popular in many countries," said Georgian Minister of Economy Natia Turnava.

The company is a beneficiary of the Produce in Georgia program and, since March 2020, has been producing biomedical coveralls, face masks, goggles and disinfectant fluids.

Favorite Style was founded 26 years ago and until now has been mainly engaged in the production of printed materials.

In March this year, the company acquired special equipment and began the production of protective medical devices. Investments in the project amounted to $180,000. Three enterprises of the company employ 800 people.
