Planting of vegetable crops completed in northern Turkmenistan

Planting of some vegetable crops has been completed in the Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region, Trend reports with reference to “Zolotoy Vek” (Golden Age) newspaper.

This region’s 185 hectares of land were allocated for cabbage from which at least 4,625 tons of crop should be obtained according to the planned forecast. For Gurbansoltan Eje and Gubadag districts of Dashoguz region 50 hectares of land each was allocated.

Potatoes and onions have also been planted in the Dashoguz region. The successful conduct of the seasonal campaign was facilitated by the competent organization of fieldwork, the availability of the necessary amount of agricultural equipment and high-quality planting material.

The entrepreneurs have contributed to the production as well.

Gurbansoltan Eje district is the main producer of potatoes in the Dashoguz region. Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan carried out almost a quarter of the planting work.

Meanwhile, one of the largest enterprises for processing vegetables and fruits is the Ruhubelent Joint-Stock Company, which processes tomatoes and produces fruit juices and nectars.

Turkmenistan's agriculture is one of the most important branches of country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, fruit and vegetables.
