Products worth $546 million were exported from Alborz province in northern Iran in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Director General of the Customs Administration of Alborz Province Gholamhossein Nouhi, Trend reports citing Tasnim news agency,
According to Nouhi, products exports increased by about 72 percent in terms of value compared to the preceding year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).
Nouhi added that about $317 million worth of products were exported from Alborz province in the preceding year.
The official said that there are about 3,500 production facilities in Alborz province.
Nouhi said that due to the US sanctions against Iran and a number of restrictions on exports, preference is given to the export of the finished products instead of the export of raw materials.
The US imposed new sanctions on Iran in November 2018. Over the past period, the sanctions affected Iranian oil exports, more than 700 banks, companies and individuals.
