Iran's Pishtazteb company exports COVID-19 test kits to Germany

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5

Iran's Pishtazteb company has exported 40,000 COVID-19 test kits to Germany, said Yasha Farrokhzad, executive director of the company, Trend reports citing IRNA.

According to Farrokhzad, the kits were sent to Germany on May 5 from Imam Khomeini Airport.

The executive director added that the company can produce 1 million units of kits per day.

"Currently, there are requests from more than 40 countries for the purchase of anti-coronavirus products. Given that initially we received request from 20 countries, there are applications from more than 60 countries," he said.

The executive director said that Germany, Turkey, Poland, several countries in Latin America and the CIS have applied for these kits.

Farrokhzad added that the next batch of the test kits will be exported to Turkey.

"Agreements are being signed for supply of the COVID-19 test kits to other countries," he said.

Farrokhzad said that the company, which has been operating for 22 years, has been exporting medical supplies to over 25 countries for more than 18 years.

Iran is one of the countries heavily affected by the rapidly-spreading coronavirus. According to recent reports from the Iranian officials, over 99,900 people have been infected 6,340 people have already died. Meanwhile, over 80,400 have reportedly recovered from the disease.
