Medium-sized apartments' sales expand in Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Sales of medium-sized (51-80 square meters) apartments were most prevalent in Georgia in the first quarter of 2020 (51 percent of total sales), Trend reports citing Georgian investment company Galt & Taggart.

In old apartment segment, the medium-sized apartments' sales were also the most prevalent, while the demand for small-sized apartments (18-50 square meters) was diminishing.

Low-price segment was most demanded, which is an evidence that low-to-middle-income households drive demand for the housing market, the company said.

According to Galt & Taggart, 53 percent of total number of apartments sold were in the low-price segment, while the premium segment accounted for only 12 percent of total volume in the first quarter of 2020.

Demand on medium-sized apartments (51-80 square meters) was high in all districts of Tbilisi, except central districts of Vake, Saburtalo and Mtatsminda, where large-sized apartments dominated the sales.

Small-sized flats were mostly sold in suburbs.
