Turkmenistan will develop its national economy by getting observer status in Word Trade Organization (WTO), Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
An online meeting of the officers of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva with experts from the World Trade Organization was held on May 5, 2020.
The meeting highlighted the need to achieve the country's observer status in this organization.
Turkmenistan informed the World Trade Organization (WTO) experts about the measures taken by country to get the observer status in this organization.
Also, an overview of the economic policy and foreign trade regime of Turkmenistan has been presented to WTO. This review was carried out based on the results of the regular meetings of the Government Commission for the study of Turkmenistan’s membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO), held on April 15 and May 4, 2020 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
