The volume of industrial goods and services in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku amounted to 8.8 billion manat ($5.1 billion) in the first quarter of 2020, which is 0.8 percent more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports referring to the Baku City Statistics Department.
Some 77.6 percent of industrial products accounted for the mining industry.
Share of processing sector in the total industrial production amounted to 19.7 percent, of electric power industry, as well as gas and steam production – 2.1 percent, of water supply, treatment and wastewater - 0.6 percent.
The share of the private sector in industrial production amounted to 79.8 percent.
The share of industrial products amounted to 86.2 percent, while industrial services – 13.8 percent in the total volume of production.
Most of the manufactured products were supplied to consumers. As of April 1, 2020, the stocks of finished products in the warehouses of industrial enterprises reached 300.6 million manat ($176.8 million), taking into account the reserves created in the previous periods.
Other products worth 84.6 million manat ($49.7 million) purchased from other enterprises and intended for sale are also stored in the warehouses of industrial enterprises.
In 2019, the volume of industrial goods and services in Baku amounted to 39.7 billion manat ($23.3 billion), which was 0.7 percent more compared to 2018.
