Turkmenistan to purchase ambulance helicopters from Russia’s Tatarstan

Turkmenhowayollary (Turkmenistan Airlines) Agency has signed a contract with Kazan Helicopters Joint Stock Company of Russia’s Tatarstan for the purchase of two ambulance helicopters, Trend reports with reference to the agency.

The contract was signed in line decree of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on March 31, 2020. According to the contract, Kazan Helicopters company will deliver one ANSAT helicopter and one Mi-17-1B helicopter to Turkmenistan in March 2021.

The delivery of these helicopters and further steps related to the terms of the contracts were discussed during a videoconference which was held between the representatives of Kazan Helicopters and the Turkmenistan Airlines Agency.

Spare parts for helicopters will be also purchased. Ambulance helicopters will be used both in the capital and in the regions of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan has been cooperating with the Kazan helicopter plant continues for several years. During a visit of the president of Turkmenistan to Russia’s Tatarstan in May 2012, the development of a fruitful partnership with the Kazan Helicopters was discussed.
