Uzbekistan maintains positive foreign trade balance with France

The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan reached $10.8 billion in the period from January through April 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Compared to the same period of last year, the indicator has decreased by almost $1.3 billion.

In the total volume of foreign trade turnover, exports reached $4.4 billion (compared to the period from January through April 2019, a decline of 10.6 percent was recorded), and imports - $6.4 billion (a decline of 10.8 percent).

In the foreign trade turnover, a passive balance in the amount of $1.9 billion was recorded, said the committee.

An active foreign trade balance was recorded with six countries including Afghanistan ($213.7 million, $116.1 million in the same period of 2019), Kyrgyzstan ($138.8 million, $171.5 million in the same period of 2019), Tajikistan ($93.7 million, $46.6 million in the same period of 2019), Turkey ($42.8 million, in the same period of 2019 balance was negative by $36.3 million), France ($23.6 million, $41,7 million in the same period of 2019) and Iran ($8 million, $16 million in the same period of 2019).

Meanwhile, a passive balance of foreign trade turnover with other countries is maintained.
