In Uzbekistan, the total volume of production in free economic zones, cotton and textile clusters, small industrial zones and technoparks has doubled in 1Q2020, compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the Committee, the total production volume exceeded 5.4 trillion soum (530.8 million).
In particular, the volume of production of cotton and textile clusters grew 4.4 times to almost 2.6 trillion soum ($255.6 million), free economic zones - by 51.8 percent to 2.3 trillion soum ($22.1 million), small industrial zones - by 2.7 percent to 523.8 billion soum ($51.4 million), technology parks - by 2.1 times to 50.1 billion soum ($4.9 million).
According to the Committee, currently 416 enterprises operate in Uzbekistan, working in free economic zones, 1,355 in small industrial zones, 97 in cotton and textile clusters and 55 in technology parks.
The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan reached $10.8 billion in the period from January through April 2020.
Compared to the same period of last year, the indicator has decreased by almost $1.3 billion.
