Azerbaijani manufacturer of PVC-windows, doors suffers fall in demand

Fenstar, an Azerbaijani company engaged in the production of aluminum and PVC windows and doors, office partitions and sliding systems, has faced a sharp decrease in demand for its products, a source at the company told Trend.

According to the source, in the past four months of 2020, it dropped by 40-45 percent.

"Consumer demand for aluminum and plastic windows and doors in the domestic market of Azerbaijan significantly decreased,” the source said. “At the same time, in the first months of the year, the demand decreased by 15-20 percent, and then further fell during the quarantine regime amid the coronavirus pandemic threat.”

“Currently, the company is gradually restores the production process and looking for ways out of the crisis. The company is capable of producing 150 plastic windows daily,” the source also said. “The annual output of the company is nearly 3,000 units. As of now, the production volumes have decreased due to a reduction in the number of offers and orders in the market."

The source also noted that the company is looking forward to restoring the export supplies.

“The respective negotiations are ongoing with partners in Iran and Georgia. Since the beginning of the year, the company has suspended export of its products abroad. Last time, the company exported products to Georgian market in several batches in 2019,” added the source.

The company has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2010.
