New committee set up in Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade

A committee has been set up at the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade for the purpose of putting enterprises into operation, said Amir Sabbagh Adviser to the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Trend reports citing the ministry.

According to Sabbagh, the purpose of the committee is to increase production, employment and exports.

Sabbagh added that national production, sustainable employment and sustainable export plans will be implemented by the committee.

"For this purpose, 200 enterprises will be put into operation starting from the current Iranian week (starts on Saturday). Some 100 of these enterprises will be commissioned this Iranian year (began from March 20, 2020), and the other 100 enterprises next Iranian year," he said.

Sabbagh said that a total of 1.69 quadrillion rials (about $40.2 billion) is expected to be spent on the commissioning of these facilities. These enterprises will employ 41,000 people.

The official said that 200 enterprises operate in various industrial and mining sectors. These enterprises were selected from 12,500 small, medium and large enterprises, and now there are more than 60 percent progress in the construction of these enterprises.

According to the official, 3,800 of 12,500 enterprises have made more than 80 percent progress.
