Energy companies of Russia’ Astrakhan region eye closer partnership with Turkmenistan

Energy, industrial, and shipbuilding companies of Russia’s Astrakhan region are interested in building up partnership with Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Prospects for bilateral cooperation were discussed during a videoconference with the Governor of the Astrakhan region of Russia, Igor Babushkin held at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. It was noted that the energy companies of Astrakhan region are interested in partnership both within the framework of existing joint agreements and promising projects.

It was emphasized that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attaches great importance to strengthening of constructive relations with Russia and its regions. The role of the Turkmen–Astrakhan Joint Council on business issues in intensifying trade and economic ties between the business circles was also noted.

The meeting of the Turkmen-Astrakhan joint Council on business issues was held at Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan via videoconference on April 29, 2020. During the meeting, issues related to strengthening productive cooperation in the field of sea cargo transportation and logistics was discussed.
