Cow milk processing volumes double in Kazakhstan

The overall volume of raw cow milk output in Kazakhstan amounted to 785,501 tons over the period from Jan. through Apr. 2020 compared to 759,735 tons during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The largest volume of cow milk output accounts for Almaty region where the production reached 139,474 tons compared to 133,554 tons over the same period of 2019.

Almaty regions is followed by Turkestan region the milk output of which amounted to 137,937 tons, which indicates increase compared to 131,994 tons over the period from Jan. through Apr. 2019.

The third largest producer of cow milk in Kazakhstan during the reporting period was Kostanay region. The volume of milk produced in Kostanay region amounted to 94,841 tons over first four months of 2020, which indicates a slight increase compared to 94,654 tons during the same period of last year.

Furthermore, the volume of milk processed for food production amounted to 1,110 tons over the reporting period, which indicates more than two-fold increase compared to 436 tons over the same period last year.

The volume of milk used for industrial consumption amounted to 25,952 tons, which is less than 26,032 used over the same period of last year.
