Tires, special vehicles manufacturing launch underway in Kazakhstan's Karaganda

Implementation of major industrial projects at the former factory of rubber products in Saran city of Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region is currently underway, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s prime minister.

The topic of projects’ implementation was discussed during a State Commission foe Economy Modernization meeting chaired by Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin.

In particular, assembly of buses and special equipment of the Yutong brand is to be established at the former plant’s territory. The volume of investments into the project will amount to 22 billion tenge ($55.05 million), the design capacity is 1,200 buses and 500 units of special equipment and special vehicles per year.

At the same time, the manufacturing of Doublestar automobile tires will also be launched. A total of 56 billion tenge ($140.1 million) are to be invested into the project which will annually produce 3 million tires for passenger cars and 500,000 tires for commercial vehicles.

In addition, a Ready Built Factory complex will be created at the former plant’s site for small businesses to implement industrial projects, including components and spare parts production.

The meeting participants also talked issues of providing state support to investors of agricultural holdings in the North Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions, implementation of the Comprehensive Privatization Plan for 2016-2020, activities of manufacturing enterprises, etc.
