Representatives of a number of Uzbekistan's state agencies held a videoconference with Director of Italian Salmo-Pan SRL Adamas Caviar company Sergio Nannini, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.
The Uzbek side was represented by officials of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Center for the Development of Investment Projects and Khorazm Baliq Cluster LLC.
Representatives of Center for the Development of Investment Projects of Uzbekistan talked about tax and customs privileges provided for enterprises working in the fishing industry in Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness to assist in attracting financing for a joint project on production of black caviar with Italian company.
The Uzbek side also noted the importance of the project, as well as the restoration of extinct species of sturgeon, which lived in the Aral Sea.
In conclusion, the Center for the Development of Investment Projects provided information on the created opportunities in Uzbekistan to support foreign investors and implement investment projects which include exemption from tax and customs duties the imported goods until November 2021; exemption from tax for three years.
The representative of Khorazm Balik Cluster LLC informed about the company's activities, opportunities and prospects for the implementation of this project and expressed readiness to jointly conduct a set of preparatory activities and start the project in the near future, for which a farm Golden Fish's Caviar has already been established.
Sergio Nannini noted that one of the main factors for the survival of sturgeons is water quality, and therefore, it is necessary to conduct microbiological and chemical analysis before cultivation of sturgeon in the Khorezm region.
Following the discussion, an agreement was reached on a more detailed exchange of information on key indicators and on the drafting a memorandum of cooperation in the field of sturgeon breeding and caviar production.
