Uzbekistan exported 2.2 million of medical masks for $450,000 to Kuwait, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association.

The medical masks were delivered to Kuwait City by a special cargo plane from Navoi international airport.

Export of the first batch of medical masks was arranged under $10-million contract signed in late May 2020 between Uzbekistan textile and garment industry Association and Kuwait's Fursan Al Khaleej company.

"For the first time in the history of Uzbek-Kuwaiti relations, Uzbek products have been exported in such a significant volume. At present, the Uzbek embassy in Kuwait works to implement the objectives set by the country's leadership to increase exports of Uzbek products to the international market," the message said.

In particular, the Uzbek diplomatic mission is striving to expand the exports of textile, food and agricultural products to Kuwait and is studying the needs of Qatar, Bahrain and Iraq, which are promising markets for exports, said the association.

The medical masks were delivered to Kuwait according to the country's Ministry of Interior, and part of them will be handed over to the Ministry of Health.
