Kazakhstan approves information exchange agreement in int'l transportation with China

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym Jomart Tokayev ratified the agreement on the exchange of information on goods and international transportation vehicles moved across the customs borders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and China, Trend reports with reference to the press office of the president.

The law on agreement ratification was signed today, Jun.15, 2020.

The agreement on the exchange of information on goods and international transportation vehicles moved across the customs borders of the Eurasian Economic Union and China was signed within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 6, 2019.

The Agreement stipulates the phased implementation of information exchange in accordance with separate protocols between the central customs authorities of the Union Member States and China’s General Administration of Customs.

These protocols will define the scope and composition of information concerned as well as technical conditions for exchanging information. The organized regular consolidated exchange of information on goods and vehicles in accordance with the Agreement will help ensure:

- acceleration of customs operations in respect of goods imported into the customs territories of the Union and the PRC as well as goods transported in transit;

- use of obtained data to increase the efficiency in the sphere of risk management and improvement of customs control forms;

- reduction of risks associated with the importation of potentially dangerous goods evading customs control and other security-related risks.​
