Georgia should look forward to a combination of joint goals, financial support, as well as trade development between Georgia and the European Union (EU), all of which will bring prosperity to Georgia and deepen relations between Georgia and the EU, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said, Trend reports citing Georgian media.
She made the remark following a video conference of the Leaders Dialogue of the Eastern Partnership (EaP).
“First of all, we will intensify macroeconomic support to Georgia and trade between the European Union and Georgia. We plan to invest in small and medium enterprises to improve the economic environment in the counry. There will also be investments in strengthening our ties, including in digital infrastructure, which is important for us,” said Ursula von der Leyen.
She added that the EU would also support projects that make the economy greener and help to fight the climate change.
The video conference of the Leaders Dialogue of the Eastern Partnership led by President of the European Council Charles Michel and Ursula von der Leyen was held on June 18.
Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia also participated in the conference.
