The decisions may be made at a meeting of the Supreme Council of Non-Oil Exports to increase Iran's non-oil exports in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran and Chairman of the Iran's Trade Development Organization Hamid Zadboum said, Trend reports citing the organization’s official website.
Zadboum said that the meeting of the Supreme Council of Non-Oil Exports will be held next Iranian week (the week begins on Saturday in Iran).
The chairman added that increasing the powers of the Supreme Council of Non-Oil Exports, reducing decision-making processes and other issues will be discussed at the meeting.
The deputy minister emphasized that one of the issues in focus is to solve the problems facing exports.
“According to the programs for the export of goods and services in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), the markets of neighboring countries are in the spotlight,” he said.
Iran exported 9.17 million tons of non-oil products worth $2.64 billion in two months (April 20-May 20, 2020). During the period, Iran imported 3.87 million tons of non-oil products worth $3.11 billion.
Iran exported 133 million tons of non-oil products worth $41.3 billion in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020). During the same period, Iran also imported 35.3 million tons of non-oil products worth $43.7 billion.
