Purchase of rapeseed in Iran's Qom Province completed

The purchase of rapeseed from farmers in Iran's Qom Province has been completed, Director of the Government Trading Corporation of Iran’s (GTC) branch in Qom Province Behzad Radmanesh said, Trend reports citing the corporation’s website.

More than 3,210 tons of rapeseed were purchased from farmers in the Qom Province during current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), according to Radmanesh.

Radmanesh added that more than 15,000 tons of wheat have been purchased from farmers in Qom Province from the beginning of current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to date (June 22).

The director stressed that in the same period last year, 12,100 tons of wheat were purchased from farmers in the province.

The price of ordinary wheat to be purchased from farmers in the current planting year is set at 25,000 rials (about 59 cents), and of durum wheat - at 26,000 rials (about 61 cents) per kilogram in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020). The price of rapeseed is set at 46,600 rials (about $1.1) per kilogram.

A number of products, including wheat, tea, rice and other products, are purchased from farmers by a state company under a guarantee in Iran.
