BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkish Airlines will resume flights to the capital of Turkmenistan - Ashgabat - from July 22, 2020, Trend reports with reference to Arzuw NEWS.

Istanbul-Ashgabat-Istanbul flight will be carried out 3 times a week, the report says.

Turkish Airlines’ office in Ashgabat does not have an official permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to resume flights to Ashgabat. Despite this, the sale of tickets has already opened.

Currently the company's offices do not provide a free refund of purchased tickets.

In addition to Turkmenistan, Turkish Airlines has also resumed flights to some other countries.

Earlier, Turkish Airlines extended the suspension of flights to Turkmenistan until July 20 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Turkmenistan has no registered cases of coronavirus infection.

The outbreak in the Chinese city of Wuhan - which is an international transport hub - began at a fish market in late December 2019.

The World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11 declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Some sources claim the coronavirus outbreak started as early as November 2019.
