Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with Poland grows

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29

The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Poland amounted to $36.8 million from January through May 2020, which is three percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports on June 29 referring to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

The export of Azerbaijani products to Poland amounted to $1.9 million from January through May 2020, while a year earlier - $1.9 million.

Poland’s share in Azerbaijan’s total export volume decreased from 0.03 percent to 0.02 percent.

Import of products from Poland to Azerbaijan increased by 3.2 percent year on year from $33.8 million to $34.9 million.

Poland’s share in Azerbaijan’s total import volume decreased from 0.81 percent to 0.6 percent of the total volume.

In general, Azerbaijan’s export-import ratio shifted towards import from January through May 2020 and amounted to 5 percent and 95 percent, respectively, compared to 6 percent and 94 percent from January through May 2019. Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between the two countries during the reporting period was negative and amounted to $32.9 million.

Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover amounted to $11.1 billion from January through May 2020, which is 22.9 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis increased by 0.9 percent and remained positive, amounting to $2.8 billion.
