Uzbekistan has launched a new paper production plant in Nukus city, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.
The Central Asia International Paper LLC was established jointly with the Chinese Qinhuangdao Julin Import&Export company. The project has taken off the ground thanks to direct foreign investments and modern technologies.
"By the end of 2020, the Chinese partners plan to increase the production volume to 15,000 - 20,000 tons of paper products. It is planned to increase production volume through production of printed, offset and cardboard paper with a total investment of $10 million," the message said.
Earlier this project was planned to be implemented in the Syrdarya region. However, the Chinese company decided to implement this project in Nukus due to opportunities and availability of appropriate raw materials in Karakalpakstan.
