Uzbek livestock farmers to obtain lands without auction

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6

Trend:

Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed decree granting benefits to livestock farmers in all districts of the country’s Karakalpakstan Republic, Trend reports citing the local Nuz.az News Agency.

Earlier only livestock farmers in Bozatau, Muinak, Takhtakupyr and Kungrad districts used the benefits, the Uzbek Ministry of Justice said.

The decree "On additional measures for the accelerated development of livestock farming industries in the Republic of Karakalpakstan", signed by the president on July 3, extends these provisions throughout the country.

The benefits will apply to the initiators of projects for industrial grazing of sheep, goats and cattle on pastures and hayfields, production of livestock feed, as well as processing livestock products in all areas of Karakalpakstan.

As an exception, the livestock farmers will be able to obtain (without a tender and auction) irrigated lands for industrial livestock farming; pastures and hayfields for livestock grazing; low-fertile irrigated lands for building stock-raising facilities, processing livestock products, producing mixed feeds in the absence of a land plot not used in agriculture.

The State Fund for Support of Entrepreneurship along with compensation will give a guarantee to the livestock farmers.
