Hungarian companies interested in expanding business in Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6

Georgia is a leading state in the EU’s Eastern Partnership initiative and the country’s cooperation with NATO is exceptional, said Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, Trend reports referring to Georgian media.

He made the remark during a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia in Tbilisi.

Szijjarto praised the reforms carried out by the Georgian government and the country’s successful fight against the coronavirus adding that the efforts both of the Georgian government and the people allowed the country to be successful against COVID-19.

The minister noted that his visit to Georgia amid the pandemic is a signal of the two countries' special relations and cooperation.

He stated that Georgia has a favorable business environment and Hungarian companies are interested to expand their businesses in the country, citing the activities of Hungarian airlines Wizz Air in Georgia.

Gakharia and Szijjarto discussed opportunities for development of tourism between the countries and emphasized that lifting travel restrictions should take place gradually and cautiously.
