Iran's Pasargad Steel Complex puts two plants into operation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9

Two plants have been put into operation at the Pasargad Steel Complex in Fars Province (southern Iran) on July 9, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran Daroush Esmaeili said at an event dedicated to the commissioning of plants, Trend reports citing the ministry.

According to Esmaeili, 674 people were employed with the commissioning of these plants.

Esmaeili added that the complex's sponge iron plant can produce 1.8 million tons of products a year. Of the total investment in the plant, about 139 million euros were spent on the construction.

The complex's iron pellet and iron concentrate plant can produce 3.5 million tons and 2.5 million tons of products per year, respectively. Of the total investment in the plant, about 141 million euros were spent on the construction.

"The concentrate production phase of the plant is expected to be commissioned by the end of the year," he said.

Today, 6 industrial enterprises have been put into operation in 3 provinces of Iran - Sistan and Baluchestan, Fars and Isfahan. In total, more than 58.8 trillion rials (about $1.4 billion) has been invested in the construction of these enterprises.
