New projects to be launched in Uzbek Fergana region's Sokh district

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 14

The government of Uzbekistan intends to launch projects worth 450 billion soum ($43.9 million) in the Sokh district of Fergana region, Trend reports citing Daryo News Agency.

“The draft presidential decree on the development of Sokh district, which is currently under development, provides tax incentives for producers in the region. This will allow attracting both local and foreign investors,” the message says.

Sokh district of Fergana has many resources for construction materials, such as cement, sand, stone, and gypsum.

The local budget of Sokh district receives 52 billion soum ($5.1 million) per year, which makes 1.5 percent of the budget of Fergana region.

Earlier, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan reported that the government of Uzbekistan plans to implement a total of 4,015 investment projects worth 32.9 trillion soum ($3.2 billion) in Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions of Uzbekistan (Fergana Valley) in the period from 2020 through 2021, the message said.
