BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21

By Ilkin Seyfaddini - Trend:

Uzbekistan produced 5.1 million tons of grain in the first half of 2020, which is 2.3 percent more than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The largest volume of grain was produced in five regions - Kashkadarya (619,200 tons), Surkhandarya (602,200 tons), Jizzakh (528,300 tons), Fergana (526,600 tons) and Andijan (512,400 tons).

In June 2020, Uzbekistan has set procurement prices and grain volumes for government resources due to presidential decree on measures to organize timely and high-quality harvesting of grain crops sown for the harvest of 2020.

In order to ensure stability in the domestic market, the government has set the prices for state procurement of grain.

In accordance with the decision of the president of Uzbekistan on measures for the broad introduction of market principles in the production, purchase and sale of grain (March 6, 2020), the work in grain production clusters of Uzbekistan is being organized in a new and rational manner and shows positive results in terms of yield.
