Uzbek-Chinese joint venture eyes to increase woolen fabric production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25

Uzbek-Chinese joint venture Uzwoolentex plans to implement a project to establish production of wool yarn, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan National News Agency.

This project worth over $6 million envisages production of 840 tons of wool yarn per year. The project will create about 400 new jobs and halve the time required to produce orders. To date, the production of woolen fabrics of JV Uzwoolentex is based on cotton.

At present, the company produces two million running meters of cotton a year. Manufactured fabrics are mainly intended for sewing forms for the military, airport staff, hotels and other government services.

The company started exporting its products to Russia and Kazakhstan. Samples of fabrics and uniform have been sent to dozens countries, and active negotiations are under way.

To date woolen fabrics Uzwoolentex are widely used at Uzbek - German JV Narimtex GmbH for sewing women's clothing under the Molto Caldo brand, the message said.
