SBF talks webinar on Turkmenistan, possibilities for overseas investors

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 29

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Singapore Business Federation (SBF) plans to organize a webinar on Turkmenistan soon, Ho Meng Kit, Chief Executive Officer of SBF told Trend.

The webinar will be organized in order to share more about the country’s potential with Singapore businesses.

“SBF looks forward to working more closely with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan (CCIT) in the near future and facilitate win-win outcomes for our business communities,” added Ho Meng Kit.

Ho Meng Kit pointed out that Turkmenistan possesses great potential, and offers many business opportunities for overseas investors.

“Due to its strategic location, the country offers abundant natural resources of gas and oil deposits, which is advantageous for many investors.

Many foreign companies work in the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, including China national oil and gas Corporation (CNPC), Dragon oil (UAE), Petronas (Malaysia), Eni (Italy), Mitro International (Austria), others are working in the country in the field of exploration and development of deposits.

"In addition to cotton and natural gas, the country is also rich in petroleum, sulphur, iodine, salt, bentonite clays, limestone, gypsum, and cement—all potential inputs to the chemical and construction industries,” said SBF’s CEO.

As it was reported earlier, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents has been held during the Turkmen-Singapore business forum in Singapore last year.

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is the apex business chamber championing the interests of the Singapore business community in the areas of trade, investment and industrial relations. It represents 27,200 companies, as well as key local and foreign business chambers.
