Diesel prices increase in Kazakhstan year-on-year

Prices of food products in Kazakhstan increased by 7.6 percent in July 2020 compared to Dec. 2019 and by 11.3 percent compared to July 2019, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

In turn, prices of non-food items increased by 2.9 percent compared to Dec. 2019 and by 5.4 percent compared to July 2019. Prices of paid services increased by 1.7 percent compared to Dec. 2019 and by 3.2 percent year-on-year.

Compared to Dec. 2019, prices of fruit have increased by 21.3 percent, cereals by 20 percent, granulated sugar by 11.5 percent, flour by 11 percent, vegetables by 10.8 percent, pasta by 10.1 percent, butter by 9.4 percent, hard curd cheese by 8.4 percent, tea by 6.8 percent, bakery and flour products by 5.3 percent, pasteurized milk by 4.5 percent, bread by 3.8 percent, cottage cheese by 3.3 percent.

Tobacco products rose in price by 8.8 percent, mineral and drinking water by 8.5 percent, alcoholic beverages by 5.5 percent, soft drinks by 5.4 percent.

A decrease in prices for eggs was recorded by 5.9 percent, rice by 2.2 percent, millet by 2.1 percent. In turn, prices of lamb increased by 11.8 percent, horse meat by 8.6 percent, beef by 7 percent, frozen fish by 6.8 percent, sausages by 6.1 percent, pork by 5.5 percent.

In comparison with Dec. 2019, the increase in prices for detergents and cleaning products amounted to 6.6 percent, medicine by 6.3 percent, household appliances by 4.6 percent, cars, building materials by 4.3 percent each. Gasoline rose in price by 2.7 percent, whereas diesel fuel decreased in price by 3 percent.
