Georgian Kareli Fruits company, which is presented on the market under the brand Chikori, plans to cultivate its own orchards, Trend reports citing Georgian media.
According to Director of the company Anano Bejanishvili, Kareli Fruits currently delivers fruit from local farmers. This year, The company plans to process 500 tons of fruit this year and double this figure in the future.
Bejanishvili added that the company will start supply of hazelnuts to market from 2021 and is going to diversify the assortment of dried fruits. At this moment, 15 types of dried fruits are sold on the market by this company.
Kareli Fruits opened in the region of Kareli in 2016.
Today, 40 percent of the company's products are exported, mainly to Japan, Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Germany. The negotiations on export to the US and Israel are underway.
