Georgia builds plant to produce frozen confectionery

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5

Supported by the Bank of Georgia and in cooperation with Georgia's Food Alliance Ltd., a plant for production of frozen confectionery was built on a 10,197-square meter plot in Natakhtari village of Mtskheta municipality in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Georgia, Trend reports citing Georgian media.

The enterprise will produce various types of bread, including baguettes, croissants and other bread products that only need to be baked in the oven before consumption.

The project total cost is 10 million lari ($3.2 million), of which the bank's financing is 6.7 million lari ($2.1 million).

Construction of the plant began in the second half of 2019 and was completed within a year.

Food Alliance already presented its products in Spar and Carrefour hypermarkets.

The company plans to sell products mainly in hotels and retail markets.
