Companies in Greece having advanced know-how in the fields of infrastructure construction, energy and mineral oils processing projects, are open to forming potential partnerships with Turkmen companies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece told Trend.

“With regard to bilateral economic cooperation, we are truly looking forward to strengthening our cooperation,” noted the ministry.

The ministry pointed out that Greece always seeks to further enhance and promote its bilateral relations and cooperation even with countries it does not have geographical proximity.

The ministry also noted that the countries "share friendly diplomatic relations with Turkmenistan since 1992."

“Greece supports and appreciates Turkmenistan’s policy of neutrality in the context of promoting stability, security and good neighborly relations in Central Asia,” added the ministry.

As reported, earlier, Prokopios Pavlopoulos, who was then the president of Greece, wrote a letter to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, saying that relations between Turkmenistan and Greece are based on sincere friendship that has long been linking the peoples of the two countries.

Pavlopoulos stressed that he looks forward to further strengthening of the bilateral cooperation in many areas, including the political, economic and trade spheres.
