The export of products from Azerbaijan to Turkey increased by 19.7 percent year-on-year from January through June 2020, amounting to $1.47 billion, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Republic.
As reported, Turkey's share in Azerbaijan's total exports increased from 12.36 to 19.21 percent in 1H2020.
During the reporting period, imports of Turkish products to Azerbaijan increased by 9.2 percent compared to the same period in 2019.
According to the data, the import of Turkish products to Azerbaijan in the first six months of this year amounted to $739.53 million, while a year earlier - $677.4 million.
Turkey's share in Azerbaijan's total imports increased from 9.66 to 14.82 percent of the total.
The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Turkey amounted to $2.21 billion, which is 16 percent more than in the same period last year.
The foreign trade balance of the two countries for the reporting period was positive and amounted to $737 million.
From January through June 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $12.67 billion, which is 34.1 percent less than the same period in 2019. The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis decreased by 10 percent and remained negative, amounting to $2.69 billion.
