Iran discloses exports from Sistan and Baluchestan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8

More than 423,000 tons of products were exported through the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) during the first four months of current Iranian year (March 20-July 21, 2020), said Reza Rasti, supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Customs Administration, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Rasti noted that the value of products exported through the province's customs and border markets amounted to more than $563 million during four months.

The official added that the exports increased by 67 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“The exported products were mainly cement, dates, gas and construction materials,” Rasti said.

The official noted that 518,000 tons of products worth more than 687 million were imported through the customs and border markets of Sistan and Baluchestan Province during four months.

According to Rasti, the imports of products increased by 53 percent in terms of volume and decreased by 43 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

"The imported products were mainly wheat, rice, barley, mango and sesame," he said.

There are seven border markets operating in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
