BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Transit-oriented development (TOD) centers will be established at the entrances to cities in Iran, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Mohammad Eslami told journalists at an event dedicated to the delivery of 80 buses in Isfahan Province, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The minister noted that these centers will be established to connect the country's and cities' railway stations, intra-city and suburban bus terminals and taxi terminals.

Eslami stressed that it is planned to establish trade, management and service facilities in these centers. Thus, the citizens can use many services in these centers during their trips.

“Transit-oriented development centers also facilitate long-distance travel and reduce fuel and time consumption,” he said.

Eighty new buses were put received in Isfahan city of Isfahan Province on August 8. About 2.25 trillion rials (about $53.5 million) were spent on the manufacturing of these buses.
