Various manufacturing ventures to be launched in Kazakhstan's Nur-Sultan in 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 10

A total of six new projects will be implemented on the territory of the industrial park #1 at the Astana, The New City Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a SEZ representative told Trend.

The SEZ official said that currently, 75 projects are registered at the zone, 49 of which are active, whereas 26 are being implemented.

This year, six projects worth 30 billion tenge ($71.4 million) will be commissioned.

One of them will allow to increase the pace of construction in Nur-Sultan city by organizing volume-block housing construction using German technology. The plant will produce ready-made rooms with plumbing fixtures, tiles, wallpaper, laminate. Then these rooms, as parts of the constructor, will be assembled into a single building at the construction site.

The official also said that import-substituting enterprises for the production of tower cranes, facade hoists and paints and varnishes will be launched in the industrial part.

“For example, the construction of the Lashyn Factori plant for the production of tower cranes and elevators is nearing completion, and the enterprise is looking to supply its products to the markets of Azerbaijan and Central Asia. In turn, paint and varnish products of the VMP Plant will be supplied to the market of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries starting from 2021,” the company official said.

The official added that currently, work is being actively carried out to attract new investors to various sectors of the Nur-Sultan's economy.

“Moreover, work continues during the global COVID-19 pandemic, when investment talks on new and existing projects are held online,” the official said.
