Namangan region of Uzbekistan starts production of packaged dried fruits

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 17

Uzbek Valley Fruits company, operating in the Bunyodkor small industrial zone, plans to expand its production, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan National News Agency.

The enterprise is located in Yangikurgan district of Namangan region. The district is considered one of the leading in the industry of horticulture, viticulture and potato growing.

Under the new project, Valley Fruits company launches production of dried fruits and berries. Dried fruits will be packaged in accordance with international standards while retaining all their healthy properties. A new extensive freezing warehouse of 2,500 tons is under construction.

The first export contracts were signed with businessmen from Russia and England.

The total project cost is four billion soum ($388,953).

In the future, 10 promising projects worth 28.4 billion soum ($2.7 million) will be implemented on six hectares in Bunyodkor small industrial zone.
