Georgia  launching  new business program

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20

The Georgian government is launching a new 'State - Your Partner' project, which will allow individuals to receive state services and information about programs to help start or assist new business in 81 community centers and 24 justice houses in more than 100 settlements throughout Georgia, Trend reports citing Georgian media.

In these centers, citizens will be able to fill out applications to participate in state ongoing or planned programs.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that its goal is to encourage more citizens to begin businesses and more villagers to engage in agricultural activities.

"I understand very well how much responsibility and psychological stress an individual faces when moving from a hired job to a private business. It is challenging to make the first steps and become an entrepreneur as you might face financial problems, you need gain knowledge, conduct market research and carry out other activities, so we must do everything to help citizens take the first steps", Gakharia said.

Gakharia added that thousands of people have already benefited from different state programs in Georgia and more than 1.5 billion lari ($485.4 million) was issued as a loan and tens of thousands new enterprises have opened in the country.
