Agro-industrial cluster eyes to raise cotton production of Uzbekistan's Namangan region

Tashkent Agricultural Machinery Plant has supplied a batch of new TZST CE 220 cotton harvesters to the largest agro-industrial cluster of Namangan region, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan National News Agency.

In the agro-industrial cluster Art Soft Holding LLC increased the number of cotton harvesters in operation, in order to increase the volume of harvested cotton.

The total value of tractors from Tashkent plant was 26 billion soum ($2.5 million).

Agro-industrial cluster Art Soft Holding LLC is one of the largest holding companies in Uzbekistan.

Cluster includes such large enterprises as Art Soft Textile, Art Soft Chamanzor, Art Soft Promzone, Art Soft Nanay, Art Soft Boston, Art Soft Spinning, PapFen.

In April 2020, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed Uzavtosanoat company's management to optimize production processes based on an analysis of prices for equipment, speed up the commissioning of metal casting facilities and increase the level of localization to produce affordable domestic tractors that meet the needs of Uzbek villages.

Tasks were set to speed up the mechanization of cotton harvesting and to deliver at least 1,000 cotton harvesters to the regions by September 2020, with the organization of service centers in all regions.
