The number of foreign tourists visiting the province increased by 1.8 times from 4.5 million to 8.7 million over seven years (from 2013 to 2019), Director General of Iran`s Isfahan Airports, Hassan Amjadi said to reporters during a visit to Isfahan, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"The Rouhani`s administration has a positive approach in developing the tourism industry," Amjadi added.
“The Isfahan airport is considered as the oldest and most important airport in the country for tourism and passenger reception,” he said.
He went on to mention the restriction of simultaneous acceptance of aircraft as one of the unresolved issues of Isfahan airport.
“It was not possible to accept over 10 flights at a time. To solve this problem airport has formulated a plan to solve the problem and it is expected to be implemented in the coming days which will lead to increase the capacity by 20 additional arrivals,” he noted

Isfahan Shahid Beheshti International Airport normally operates direct flights to Najaf and Baghdad, Kuwait, Dubai, Istanbul, Tbilisi, and Doha.
In addition to domestic airlines, Al-Iraqiya, Turkish Airlines, Fly Dubai and Qatar Airways also operate flights to this airport.
