Enterprises to be put into operation in Iran's free trade zones

As many as 376 manufacturing and service enterprises with an investment of 471 trillion rials (about $11.2 billion) and 1.7 billion euro will start their operation in Iran's free trade zones by the end of the current government term limit (August 2021), the Adviser to the Iranian president and Secretary of the Supreme Council of Iran's Free Trade, Industrial and Special Economic Zones, Morteza Bank said, Trend reports citing the council's official website.

He made the remark at a meeting held in the Aras Free Trade - Industrial Zone of East Azerbaijan Province.

According to Bank, 93,000 people will be employed with the commissioning of these enterprises.

The adviser noted that a total of 20 large enterprises worth 50 trillion rials (about $476 million) are expected to be commissioned by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021). If these enterprises are put into operation, 15,600 people will be provided with jobs.

“Furthermore, 75 manufacturing and service enterprises are being built with an investment of 24 trillion rials (about $571 million) and 378 million euro, and 4,600 people will be employed with the commissioning of these enterprises,” he added.

The secretary stressed that today on August 27, six oil, services, and agricultural enterprises worth 6.5 trillion rials (about $154 million) began their operations in the Aras Free Trade - Industrial Zone and 225 people have been employed.
