Germany’s CLAAS to establish agricultural vehicles manufacturing in Kazakhstan

Germany’s CLAAS company will establish agricultural vehicle manufacturing in Kazakhstan, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

The corresponding agreement was signed between the CLAAS company and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

The future plant will be constructed in the country’s North Kazakhstan region. Within the framework of the first stage of the project’s implementation, the production of the TUCANO combine harvester will be established. The project’s first stage also oversees the installation of all necessary equipment and staff training.

The project will be jointly implemented with the official representative of the CLAAS company in Kazakhstan – CT – Agro company. The overall volume of investments into the project's implementation is forecast to be 3.4 billion tenges ($8.1 million), including funds of the CLAAS company. Initially, 200 new jobs will be created in Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the Agreement, the company will gradually increase the localization of components production, as well as engage in technical training of personnel for the further development of production.

Upon reaching the design capacity, the enterprise will produce up to 200 units of agricultural machinery (combines, tractors, and seeding complexes) per year, which will support the renewal of the machine and tractor fleet of Kazakhstan.
