Georgia reveals volume of exported peaches, nectarines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31

Georgia has exported 23,784 tons of peaches and nectarines as of August 31 which is 10,963 tons more in comparison to the same period of last year, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.

Georgian peaches and nectarines were mainly exported to: Russia - 15,449 tons, Azerbaijan - 567 tons, Kazakhstan - 112.9 tons, Ukraine - 111.5 tons, Moldova - 89.6 tons, Poland - 92.6 tons, Slovenia - 57.3 tons, Singapore - 0.04 tons, Qatar - 0.01 tons.

Last year Georgia exported 13,256 peaches and nectarines to the following countries: Russia - 10,777 tons, Azerbaijan - 667 tons, Ukraine - 150 tons, Kazakhstan - 114 tons, Slovenia - 78 tons, Iraq - 39 tons, Iran - 20 tons, Moldova - 19 tons, Belarus - 18 tons, Qatar - 0.4 tons.

According to the ministry, refrigeration and storage facilities are operating at full capacity to accommodate and sell peaches.

To facilitate the export of peaches, the necessary documentation is prepared and issued in a single window. Representatives of phytosanitary and customs services are involved in the process.
