The production of gold bars at the Zarshouran gold mine in the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) increased by 23 percent during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Mohsen Naderi, Head of Zarshouran Gold Mines and Mining Industries Development Company, Trend reports citing Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company’s website.
The official said that 367 kilograms of gold were produced in Zarshouran mine over 5 months.
Naderi added that gold production was exceeded by 8 percent compared to this year's plan.
Naderi emphasized that the work at Zarshouran Company has been done to increase production by 30 percent, maximize production from each ton of incoming material, improve the filtration process and improve quality control.
The Zarshouran gold mine is located 35 kilometers from the Tekab county of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province. The Zarshouran Gold Mines and Mining Industries Development Company can produce 3 tons of gold bars a year.
