Russian Trade Ministry names medicines delivered to Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21

Russian companies sent such medicines as Afludol, Grippferon, Avifavir, Rimantadine, Cycloferon, Arbidol, Paracetamol, and Enixum to Turkmenistan, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade told Trend.

"For the period from July 2020 to the present, medical industry products worth $7.8 million were exported from Russia to Turkmenistan," the ministry added.

Also, the ministry said about the impact of coronavirus on trade supplies.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic in the world, the focus of purchases has shifted primarily to personal protective equipment (medical protection kits, masks, protective screens, etc.) and disinfection prevention products (bactericidal lamps).

"The need to close borders and cancel many business events during the global pandemic has somewhat complicated the development of trade and economic relations," the ministry said.

However, the ministry noted that a new communication format, videoconferencing, was successfully tested.

The largest volume of medicines from Russia to Turkmenistan was supplied by Russia’s Tatarstan companies.

As reported, products worth more than $571,000 were received from Moscow pharmaceutical company Sotex, while Corporation Roskhimzashchita JSC of Russia's Tambov Oblast (region) exported medicines worth $30,000 to Turkmenistan.
